According to sources from Ghana prime news, the outbreak has prompted increased vigilance as more than eight regions across Ghana have documented cases. Health officials are urging anyone exhibiting symptoms associated with Mpox (Monkeypox) to seek immediate medical attention at the nearest health facility, while contact tracing efforts are actively underway.

Mpox, which was previously known as Monkeypox, is a viral infection that primarily spreads from animals to humans and can also be transmitted between people. Symptoms typically manifest as a rash, fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, fatigue, and swollen lymph nodes. The main routes of transmission include close contact with infected animals, humans, or contaminated materials.

There are two distinct variants of the Mpox virus: Clade I and Clade II. Both strains share the same transmission methods, and preventive measures remain consistent across both types. The recent global escalation of Mpox (Monkeypox) has raised alarms, with over 100,000 cases reported in 122 countries. Notably, many of these nations had not previously documented any Mpox cases.
