Accra, Ghana – President John Dramani Mahama has called upon both public and private sector organizations to dedicate a portion of their annual social investments to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, also referred to as the Mahama Cares Initiative.
During the launch event held at the University of Ghana Medical School (UGMC) in Legon, President Mahama emphasized the significance of this fund, noting that the individuals who stand to benefit are likely to be clients or employees of these organizations. He asserted that supporting the fund represents a meaningful investment in the health and well-being of the community.
The Mahama Cares Initiative aims to address the rising burden of chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) within the country. The fund is designed to provide essential support for the specialist treatment of various chronic illnesses, including cancers and diabetes.
