Seven Suspects Arrested in Connection at Ashaiman By The Police

In a swift response to a recent robbery incident, the Tema Regional Police Command has apprehended seven individuals suspected of carrying out armed robberies at two locations in the Greater Accra region: Ashaiman Sakasska Park and Dagomba Junction. The incidents, which have alarmed the local community, involved a group of assailants using weapons to target victims and steal valuable items.

Initial investigations by law enforcement revealed that the group attacked their victims with a weapon, absconding with a range of stolen goods. Among the items taken were an iPhone 12 Pro Max, a Samsung A03 Core smartphone, a Dell laptop contained within a backpack along with its charger, a power bank, an Infinix Hot 40i, as well as cash.

The police's proactive approach led to a prompt response at the scene of the crime. With assistance from community members, officers were able to detain two suspects, identified as Moses Kwame Helu and Jonathan Osabutey, shortly after the robberies occurred. Their quick actions exemplified the importance of community cooperation in tackling crime.

Following the initial arrests, the police acted on received intelligence to capture additional suspects. Among them were Robert Amekudzi and a juvenile, whose identities have not been disclosed to protect their privacy. This combination of tips and police initiative resulted in the recovery of the stolen backpack along with the Dell laptop and its charger.

Further investigations yielded additional suspects. Bernard Dzumador and another juvenile were subsequently arrested, with police recovering the stolen iPhone 12 Pro Max and Samsung A03 Core that had been taken from the victims.

The Tema Regional Police Command has confirmed that all seven suspects are currently in custody and are assisting authorities with ongoing investigations. A statement released by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, the Head of Public Affairs for the Tema Police region, indicated that future proceedings would include court appearances for the suspects as the investigation continues.
