The allegations against Partey encompass two counts of rape involving one woman, three counts of rape relating to a second complainant, and one count of sexual assault concerning a third individual. In response to the accusations, Partey has firmly denied all charges through a statement delivered by his lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire. She emphasized that he has been fully cooperative with the investigations conducted by the police and the CPS and is eager to have the opportunity to clear his name in court.

Wiltshire further indicated that Partey will refrain from making any additional public statements while the legal proceedings are ongoing. The CPS also confirmed the charges after examining what they referred to as a comprehensive dossier submitted by the police. Jaswant Narwal, representing the CPS, noted, “Our prosecutors have collaborated closely with officers from the Metropolitan Police to review the evidence and determine the appropriate charges.”

The CPS and law enforcement highlighted the necessity of maintaining the integrity of the judicial process, with Narwal cautioning against any reports or commentary that could potentially prejudice the proceedings. “Criminal proceedings are active, and the defendant is entitled to a fair trial,” Narwal stated.

This announcement comes shortly after Partey departed from Arsenal, where he had been a key player, making 130 appearances over five seasons following his transfer from Atlético Madrid in 2020. During his time at the London club, he played a crucial role in securing a range of accomplishments, solidifying his reputation as a talented footballer. On the international arena, he has represented Ghana with pride, earning 53 caps and scoring 15 goals for the national team.
