Tema Port Upgraded for Enhanced 24-Hour Economic Operations

In a bid to ensure the effective implementation of the 24-hour port operations policy, Brigadier General Paul Seidu Tanye-Kulono, the Director-General of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), recently conducted an inspection of ongoing road rehabilitation projects within the Port of Tema area. The inspection took place on July 7, 2025, and targeted three significant road corridors crucial for enhancing port operations.

The inspected routes included the Mankoadze Roundabout to Harbour Roundabout, the Harbour Roundabout to GHACEM road, and the access road connecting Terminals 2 and 3. Notably, the stretch from the Harbour Roundabout to GHACEM is undergoing substantial improvements aimed at enhancing traffic flow, safety, and the movement of heavy-duty trucks and cargo within the port.

A highlight of the visit was the access road linking Terminal 3 to Terminal 2. Once completed, this essential road will provide a direct connection between the two major terminals, significantly reducing transit times and streamlining the transfer of containers. This development is poised to further the efficiency objectives of the 24-hour port operations agenda and improve service delivery for port users.
